Mikki Lipson

The Pointe, Director

With over 15 years teaching experience, Mikki has created The Pointe to help deliver her passion- quality dance coaching in a positive and supportive environment.

Mikki started dancing at age 3 and trained in classical ballet, jazz and tap in Melbourne. Her passion was classical ballet, and she participated in a number of programs with The Australian Ballet and Cecchetti Society of Australia. Mikki then took a break from the more traditional forms of training to throw herself into something different... Hip Hop!

Mikki competed with Australian Hip Hop Crew of the year  DVP and travelled to Los Angeles for 6 months to train at Debbie Reynolds, The Edge (LA) and Millennium Dance Complex.

After returning from LA, Mikki enrolled in the full time dance program at Patrick Studios Australia where she completed two years of Full Time Performing Arts training. After completing full time, Mikki worked in number of corporate commercial contracts and performed in The Boy From Oz with Todd McKenney in 2010, and was selected to perform one of the three witches in Opera Australia's Macbeth- before retiring at the young age of 26 due to spinal fractures.

Mikki is passionate about Yoga for health of the mind, and Pilates and specialised conditioning to achieve your goals and maintain health of the body. Her mission is to support young dancers in a positive environment, to achieve their goals and make health, their first priority.
